The bible has much to say about faith. We will examine five top areas of faith from Scripture. We will also take a look at how each area relates to achieving our objective to receiving a much needed acim from God.
For example let’s say you hope for something. Let’s say you hope to have enough money to pay your bills. Let’s also say that you do not have a job and you are terrible at running a business. Let’s also say that you have run up enough credit card debt and various other debts that even with a good job you still can’t meet your obligations. Now on top of this let’s say that you just found out that you are in the last stages of a terminal disease and your spouse has left you and your children do not want to have anything to do with you. Let’s also reason that you don’t know for sure what will happen to you when you die and you are concerned about this issue too. Let’s add to this that you can’t sleep and you can’t eat and you are a nervous wreck all the time which is compounded by constant shaking physically. You have been a loser all your life and when you die no one will care.
We will use this as our example. So what is your hope? You first hope that if all else fails that when you die you at least go to heaven if that is in fact what can happen. Next you hope that once your eternal destiny is secured that you could at least live and survive dying from the terminal disease. Then if you can be somehow healed you hope that you can come up with enough money to pay off all your debts and have enough to live on while you find gainful employment or a business that will take care of your financial needs. If by some miracle this all can take place you hope to meet someone and fall in love again, but first you must feel good about yourself that you are not a loser anymore. This is your hope.
Faith is the substance or the piece of paper that guarantees you in writing that all you have hoped for is in fact a reality even though you can’t see it right now. All you can see is all that bad things that are happening to you right now. So what do you do next?
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
Let’s put this scripture in perspective and in layman’s terms. You quote the promise of God every time you have a negative thought pass through your mind with an attached emotion that if opened like an e-mail would unleash a bad virus of destruction into your life. For example, you have a thought that everything is bad financially and because you are out of work you will have to go bankrupt or call a consumer counseling service or at least hide from creditors. When you have this thought and you can feel that panic just creep up on you then you answer it out loud or under your breath by quoting God’s promise such as, “My God shall supply all of your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19) That is making sure the book of the law does not depart out of your mouth.
Next you need to meditate in the Word of God day and night. This should be done shortly after you get up before you start your day and before you go to bed at the end of your day. Why? You want to start your day strong and you need to have your subconscious working through the night with the might and the power of the Word of God. Not only will you rest better while sleeping, but you will also find that as your rest answers can come to you because you are more in a relaxed state of mind. In addition, you need to visualize yourself as possessing what id promised from the Word of God. And never change that imagined thought to anything else no matter what kind of pressure you are under.
Finally, you need to do what the bible says to do. If it says to act a certain way then you do it. If it says to do certain things then you do them. Use the bible as a user manual for your life because that is what it is. If you do these things you will find success and good things coming to pass in your life. Your life will change for the better. But never expect it to be an overnight change. Just know and expect the change will happen and it will all be good.
